FAQ
How fresh is the data?
Section titled “How fresh is the data?”NodeKAT reflects the content of your connected tools as of the most recent sync. Live search tools (Slack, GitHub, Jira) query their source directly, so they see current information at query time. Extraction-based tools (Notion, Google Drive) and the knowledge base are refreshed on a schedule configured by your administrator — recent changes may not appear until the next sync.
Why can’t NodeKAT find something I know exists?
Section titled “Why can’t NodeKAT find something I know exists?”NodeKAT can only answer from content its integrations can access:
- Slack — the bot must be a member of the channel
- Notion — the integration must be shared with the page or database
- Google Drive — the authorized account must have access to the file
- Jira / GitHub — the integration must have permission scopes covering the content
If you believe access is missing, contact your NodeKAT administrator.
Does NodeKAT create, edit, or delete anything?
Section titled “Does NodeKAT create, edit, or delete anything?”No. All integrations are read-only. NodeKAT cannot send messages, create tickets, modify code, or change files in any connected tool.
Where do answers come from?
Section titled “Where do answers come from?”Answers are synthesized from content found in your connected tools and knowledge graph. Every answer includes a Sources section so you can verify where the information came from.
What happens if NodeKAT doesn’t know the answer?
Section titled “What happens if NodeKAT doesn’t know the answer?”NodeKAT will say it couldn’t find the information rather than guessing. You can try rephrasing the question or adding more detail (dates, names, channels, ticket numbers).
How do I get access to NodeKAT?
Section titled “How do I get access to NodeKAT?”Access is managed by your organization’s administrator. They provision the instance and configure which integrations are connected.
Why is an answer different from what I expected?
Section titled “Why is an answer different from what I expected?”A few common reasons:
- The question was ambiguous — try being more specific
- The source content is newer than the last sync
- The information lives in content the integration can’t reach
Can I ask about private or direct messages?
Section titled “Can I ask about private or direct messages?”Only if the integration has been configured with access to them (for example, a Slack user token with im:read). By default, NodeKAT respects the access boundaries of each integration — private channels and DMs are only visible if the configured credentials permit it.
Who do I contact for help?
Section titled “Who do I contact for help?”Your NodeKAT administrator can help with access, missing content, and connection issues.
